Second meeting of Agriculture, FMCG, and Food Processing Council

The PAFI Agri-FMCG-FP Council, chaired by Ophira Bhatia, Managing Committee Member, PAFI, and Vice President Corporate & Government Affairs (CGA), India & CGA Lead, Asia, Middle East & Africa, Mondelēz International, convened under the PAFI Dialogue Rule in New Delhi on May 30, 2025, for a dynamic session focused on key developments shaping the Agri, FMCG, and food processing sectors. The meeting began with opening remarks by T. S. Vishwanath, Founding Member, Past-President & Director General, PAFI, and Founder & Executive Chairman, VeK.

The members discussed the ever-changing consumer dynamics and how it is shifting and moving beyond the product quality. Value is now defined by sustainability, ethical labour practices, gender inclusion, and responsible use of technology and data. From absolute goods to meaningful experiences, the FMCG sector is reshaping consumer engagement and behaviour. Harsh Shrivastava, Chief Executive Officer, PAFI, summed up the key takeaways and outlined the next action points for the council.

The key highlight of the meeting was an engaging discussion with Rohit Kumar Singh, Member, National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and Former Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India, on Rising Consumer Expectations & Activism, moderated by Ophira Bhatia. It was a well-attended session that saw wide-ranging discussions from being a major driver of employment and economic growth to the importance of staying aligned with evolving consumer trends, policy shifts, and innovation to unlock its full potential. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by T. S. Vishwanath.
