Rakesh Thukral is the CEO for Asia Pacific at Edelman, bringing over three decades of experience in public relations, public affairs, and strategic communications. His extensive expertise spans CEO advisory, policy advocacy, media relations, and government engagement across the corporate, public, and development sectors. Notably, he established and built Edelman India's Public Affairs and Advocacy practice into one of the country’s leading advisory platforms.
A recognized leader in public affairs, Rakesh has led communications for high-impact initiatives related to climate change, environmental sustainability, and public engagement. His notable achievements include directing India’s outreach communications at the COP21 UN Climate Conference in Paris and advising leading energy sector organizations on large-scale stakeholder and public outreach programs.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Rakesh is deeply committed to social impact initiatives. He currently serves on the Governing Board of Action for Ability Development and Inclusion (AADI), a nonprofit focused on inclusion for people with disabilities, and previously served on the board of Sarthak, an organization dedicated to mental health awareness.
