Shipra Tripathi is a public affairs and communications professional with over two decades of experience spanning government relations, public policy, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and industry advocacy. Over the course of her career, she has worked closely with government institutions, industry associations, think tanks and businesses, building strong relationships across India’s public policy and institutional ecosystem.
Prior to joining Ashoka University, Shipra held several leadership roles across industry and policy organisations. As Head of the Africa Division at the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII), she played a key role in strengthening India–Africa business and institutional partnerships. Her work took her across 42 African countries, giving her extensive exposure to the region’s trade, investment and geopolitical landscape.
At Kirloskar Brothers Limited, Shipra led corporate global marketing and communications, working across geographies and engaging with local governments and other stakeholders.
During her tenure at Bharat Forge, she worked closely with the defence sector and supported strategic engagement with the Ministry of Defence.
She subsequently worked with a boutique policy advisory firm, where she advised organisations on government engagement strategies, public affairs and stakeholder outreach. Her experience across industry, policy and government has given her a strong understanding of how institutions can build meaningful and sustained relationships with policymakers and other stakeholders.
At Ashoka University, Shipra leads the Office of Public Affairs, with a focus on strengthening the University’s engagement with government, industry associations, think tanks, diplomatic missions and other institutional stakeholders. Her work involves building strategic partnerships and platforms that connect Ashoka’s academic and research expertise with wider policy and public discourse.
Shipra is a graduate of Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Delhi and a postgraduate diploma in Business Management from the University of Jammu.
She is passionate about reading, travelling, and building meaningful connections with people.
