The PAFI Global Council held its inaugural meeting, chaired by Arijit Sen, Chairperson, PAFI Global Council and President, Vivo Mobile India Private Limited. Member companies finalised the Council’s Terms of Reference, priority work areas, focus geographies and overarching vision.
Shivnath Thukral, President, PAFI, and Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs, PhonePe Limited, outlined his vision for the Council and called on members to drive the initiative forward. T. S. Vishwanath, Founding Member and Past President, PAFI, and Founder and Executive Chairman, VeK, and Subho Ray, Past President, PAFI, and President, Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI), emphasised the importance of clearly defining objectives and strengthening domestic engagements to complement the Council’s work and position it as a high-impact convening platform. Discussions centred on reinforcing PAFI’s outreach by adopting global best practices in public affairs and public policy.
In a follow-up engagement, PAFI hosted a roundtable under the PAFI Global Council, bringing together representatives of EU Embassies, EU-headquartered companies and existing PAFI member companies to discuss PAFI’s outreach and engagement with European stakeholders. The meeting was chaired by Anandi Iyer, Lead, PAFI EU Track, PAFI Global Council, and Director, Fraunhofer Office India. Arijit Sen and Shivnath Thukral presented PAFI’s vision and the activities of the PAFI Global Council, while PAFI leadership was represented by Ajay Khanna, Founder, PAFI; T. S. Vishwanath; and Subho Ray. Active discussions took place with EU representatives, diplomats, trade commissioners and EU companies on strengthening engagement and positioning PAFI as a trusted platform for European businesses within India.
