Chief Guest - Dr Shamika Ravi, Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India.
Dr. Ravi framed India’s growth trajectory while candidly noting the reforms and measures still needed for the country to become truly “Viksit". She encouraged members to prioritise research grounded in data and to contribute to data-driven studies across regions and geographic levels. Amongst the challenges that persist, she highlighted low labour productivity, unplanned urbanisation, technological constraints due to limited R & D, and global uncertainties, particularly around China and the US.
Ajay Khanna, Founder, PAFI, introduced the chief guest and set the stage for the ensuing discussion. The session was opened and moderated by Shivnath Thukral, President, PAFI, and concluded by Maj Ranjeet Goswami (Veteran), Vice President, PAFI, who summarised the key takeaways for members.
